Growing up in South Australia, Jem spent his youth with camera in hand, exploring the wild desert coastline of the Great Australian Bight, surfing, diving and camping with friends. Jem fell in love with being enveloped by the natural world and the vibrancy of life underwater. It just seemed instinctive to capture what he experienced.

In 2008, Jem drove to Sydney with everything he owned, to pursue a career in photography. After several years assisting Australia’s leading photographers, Jem headed out to build his own pool of clients.

His devotion to the creative process, combined with his unique eye for composition, creative technical application and hardworking attitude have made him a hit with creatives and clients alike. 

Whilst pursuing commercial work, Jem has always maintained the importance of time spent focussing on personal exhibition work, continually fuelling his love of the craft.
